I can understand what you’re saying, but I think you can really relax. This program is for you and not you for the program. It doesn’t run you or own you–and neither would I. You can embark on this program as a structure to fill in holes in your learning and to suit your interests. You don’t have to commit to anything at any time. You just read books in whatever order your interest takes you, or I could suggest an order to help build a foundation as you go.
You wouldn’t be “under” me in any way. We just keep doing what we already do, with more focus and structure. But if that still seems too constricting, then we can do it any way you like. As I mentioned, you don’t have to decide that ordination is what you want until or if you decide that it is. We keep our peer to peer status and just keep talking about things with the curriculum as a guide–that’s all. Believe me, I don’t want to control anything about your journey, just assist.
Not sure what you meant about sharing with me your perceptions on how and why I do things, so let me know on that. But if you meant speaking back to me in a mentoring way, I would welcome that. And if you think that if we embark on this it would all be one way mentoring, that’s not how I see it. I learn as much from anyone I teach or counsel as I give them. Always.
So sleep on that and let me know. If I came on too strong in my initial reply, I apologize. The spiritual journey can be scary, but that shouldn’t be coming from me–it’s just part of the process of moving into uncharted waters.
